Books have immense power to inspire, educate, and engross readers, and can even serve as a form of therapy. They continue to be one of the most influential forms of media. Some people prefer the traditional experience of turning pages, while others enjoy the convenience of eBooks or audiobooks. Whether fiction or non-fiction, books can make a significant impact on our lives. Personally, I enjoy reading educational, religious, and self-help books, while others may prefer books that allow them to escape into a world of fantasy or experience a vicarious romance. Books also offer us the opportunity to learn about different cultures and experiences that we may not have encountered otherwise. It is important for authors from all walks of life to share their stories and perspectives.
As an African American woman, it’s disheartening to know less than five percent of the world’s population of publishers are “Black.” I don’t just mean African Americans; I mean anyone who considers themselves Black, no matter the nation. However, it is my privilege to help more voices get published.
My uncle, Lafayette Johnson, Ph.D., founded Mamba Books and Publishing. He extended an offer to me to run the publishing side of the business, which I gladly accepted. I knew I could build upon his foundation and take the company to new heights. Mambabooks.com features a collection of 90 books authored by my uncle. His philosophy is to make the process of getting published easy for writers. The traditional publishing industry has been a gatekeeper for years. They determine what gets published based on what they believe will sell well. In most cases, they provide the marketing and retain the rights to the work.
If you have a desire to get published, have faith in your work and are willing to put in the effort that marketing requires, then self-publishing with Mamba Books and Publishing is the best option for you. We are dedicated to helping your dream of getting published come true
Historically, Mamba has published books from the following genres: children’s, romance, and spiritual/Christian. We would like to expand to additional genres. All we need is you.
